Asbestos Water Test
Recommended by SimpleLab™ for targeted testing of asbestos in drinking water. Asbestos may be introduced into drinking water when asbestos-containing materials dissolve in water distribution pipes (such as air-conditioning pipes) or from nearby industrial activity.
Asbestos cement pipes make up between 12% to 15% of drinking water systems in the United States. When inhaled, asbestos is a well known human carcinogen (cancer-causing agent) but research does not yet demonstrate an increased risk of cancer from ingestion of asbestos in drinking water.
This Tap Score water test package provides all required materials to properly collect and submit a sample for certified laboratory testing. Reported results will include detailed, quantified analysis of asbestos by EPA method 100.2 (or equivalent).
Testing includes: Asbestos.
Report analysis includes: Health-risk assessment, potential plumbing and aesthetic issues (taste, odor, appearance), comparison to any regulatory limits and/or public health guidelines, and unbiased treatment recommendations.
