This laboratory water test gives you a quantified analysis of all semi-volatile organic compounds, or SVOCs in a water sample. SVOCs are common in plastic plumbing, pesticides, flame-retardants, personal care products and other industrial chemicals.

SVOCs are a broad group of moderate volatility substances which commonly contaminate water (surface water, drinking water, industrial water) that has been in close proximity to industrial activity or commercial waste.

SVOCs include many types of chemicals which exhibit a wide range of different chemical properties. Common SVOCs include:

  • polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs)
  • polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs)
  • pesticides (organophosphorus, organochlorine, nitrogen-based)
  • polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs)
  • phthalates
  • chloroalkanes
  • organotin compounds
  • phenols
  • and dioxins

The chemicals are commonly used as:

  • cleaning agents
  • pesticides
  • personal care products (PPCP)
  • floor coverings
  • furnishings
  • electronic components

It is commonly accepted that SVOCs are environmental pollutants affecting human health and aquatic life in particular.

Each order includes all sampling materials, instructions, analytical testing, reporting and pre-paid return shipping labels for one (1) water quality sample analysis.

Informational testing

Each report includes analysis for specific numerical concentration levels of each contaminant and details about the potential sources and health effects associated with each parameter. We are not medical doctors and Tap Score does not provide medical advice. For medical concerns always consult your doctor. Because this testing package requires you to collect the water sample, it is not meant for state or federal compliance water testing. If you or your organization requires compliance with State or Federal Law, or compliance with a particular regulatory requirement then you must contact our support team.
