Cesium-137 Water Test
Recommended by SimpleLab™ for targeted testing for cesium-137 in drinking water. Cesium-137 is a radioactive isotope of cesium is a radionuclide that spontaneously forms when radioactive materials such as uranium and plutonium undergo nuclear fission. It is commonly associated with the operation of nuclear reactors and radioactive waste, as well as fallout from nuclear weapons testing. Cesium-137 can also used in the sterilization process for food products and medical equipment, along with in an array of industrial applications. As cesium-137 decays, it emits beta particles. This testing package is recommended typically only if you already know your water has high beta particle concentration or reason to specifically suspect cesium-137 contamination.
For a screen of total beta particle activity, SimpleLab™ recommends this broad radioactivity screen: Full Radiation Water Test.
This Tap Score water test package provides all required materials to properly collect and submit a sample for certified laboratory testing. Reported results will include detailed, quantified analysis of cesium-137 by EPA method 901.1 (or equivalent).
Testing includes: Cesium-137.
Report analysis includes: Health-risk assessment, potential plumbing and aesthetic issues (taste, odor, appearance), comparison to any regulatory limits and/or public health guidelines, and unbiased treatment recommendations.

Testing packages include sterilized water sampling vial(s), cold pack (where applicable), return shipping, testing instructions, sample information card, and padding for the contents.
Please note that unless otherwise specified, each product is intended for a single sampling location.
Once the lab receives your box, your personalized Tap Score Report will arrive by email within 10 business days.
By default, this broad-based chemical and biological water quality screening package is designed to provide you with general information about your water for personal use. Each report includes analysis for specific numerical concentration levels of each contaminant and details about the potential sources and health effects associated with each parameter. We are not medical doctors and Tap Score does not provide medical advice. For medical concerns always consult your doctor. As an informational water quality test, this package is not meant for state or federal compliance water testing. If you or your organization requires compliance with State or Federal Law, or compliance with a particular regulatory requirement then you must contact our support team and we will use the appropriate certified laboratory facilities to ensure your compliance testing requirements are met.
