Tritium Water Test
Recommended by SimpleLab™ for targeted testing for tritium isotopes (also known as H-3) in drinking water. The nucleus of a tritium atom has one proton and two neutrons–as compared to the far more common hydrogen isotope (protium) that has no neutrons.
Tritium is radioactive and as it decays into helium-3, it emits beta particles. While tritium does occur naturally in the environment in very low concentrations, it may also enter drinking water supplies due leaks from nearby commercial nuclear reactors, as well as government weapons production plants. While these levels are often very low and tightly regulated, ingesting high amounts of tritium can impact human health–as high tritium levels in cells can damage soft tissues and organs.
This Tap Score water test package provides all required materials to properly collect and submit a sample for certified laboratory testing. Reported results will include detailed, quantified analysis of tritium in drinking water.
Testing includes: Tritium by EPA 906.0 (or equivalent).
Report analysis includes: Health-risk assessment, potential plumbing and aesthetic issues (taste, odor, appearance), comparison to any regulatory limits and/or public health guidelines, and unbiased treatment recommendations.

By default, this broad-based chemical and biological water quality screening package is designed to provide you with general information about your water for personal use. Each report includes analysis for specific numerical concentration levels of each contaminant and details about the potential sources and health effects associated with each parameter. We are not medical doctors and SimpleLab does not provide medical advice. For medical concerns always consult your doctor. As an informational water quality test, this package is not meant for state or federal compliance water testing. If you or your organization requires compliance with State or Federal Law, or compliance with a particular regulatory requirement then you must contact our support team and we will use the appropriate certified laboratory facilities to ensure your compliance testing requirements are met.
