Microplastics Water TestSee Full List
Recommended for targeted testing of microplastics in drinking water. Microplastics enter the drinking water supply from an array of pollution and waste pathways–such as from tires rubbing against pavement, synthetic clothes, paint dust and microfibers. The impacts of microplastics on human health and wildlife are not well understood.
This Tap Score water test package provides all required materials to properly collect and submit a sample for certified laboratory testing. Reported results will include detailed analysis of polyethylene, polypropylene, polyvinyl chloride, and polystyrene particles between 1 micron (um) and 5 mm in size.
Methods for microplastics analysis are still developing and currently have many limitations. Please note that relatively clean water samples, like drinking water, generally have very low concentrations of microplastics that are difficult to measure due to current methodological limitations. In addition, the smallest sizes of microplastics are typically the most difficult to detect but they are the most abundant. For these reasons, this test should be viewed more as a screening test that is most effective at identifying larger particle sizes, rather than a definitive measure of all microplastics concentrations.
Note:This testing package is designed for drinking water (tap or bottled water) only and cannot be used to analyze marine or surface water.

"It was easy and gave us a lot of good details. We learned that we do not have arsenic in our well water. We also learned our water is super hard and the report actually said "do not water your plants with this water, it will kill them" I just thought I sucked at growing plants, it's nice to know its not me, it's the hard water."
"This test is worth it. It is the same price or cheaper than any lab I've seen, but you just mail it in. The results were were extremely detailed and the online interface is very user-friendly and easy to understand."
Simple interface and useful information make this a good value. I live in a 1956 airspace condo with good pipes but bad maintenance, so for everyone’s peace of mind I went ahead and got this done (and also previously ran basic asbestos tests on the plasterboard and ceiling popcorn. We’re all good here!

The testing done is superior to what we had done by a local company. This makes it an excellent value for those of us that are on our own wells. If you want a water test that is outstanding check these folks out.
