Recommended by SimpleLab™ for targeted testing of microplastics in drinking water. Microplastics enter the drinking water supply from an array of pollution and waste pathwasy–such as from tires rubbing against pavement, synthetic clothes, paint dust and microfibers. The impacts of microplastics on human health and wildlife are not well understood.
This Tap Score water test package provides all required materials to properly collect and submit a sample for certified laboratory testing. Reported results will include detailed analysis of polyethylene, polypropylene, polyvinyl chloride, and polystyrene particles between 5 mm and 0.003 mm in size.
Note: This testing package is designed for drinking water (tap or bottled water) only and cannot be used to analyze marine or surface water.
Testing includes: Microplastic particles.
Report analysis includes: Health-risk assessment, potential plumbing and aesthetic issues (taste, odor, appearance), comparison to any regulatory limits and/or public health guidelines, and unbiased treatment recommendations.
